ProfileData, the electronic data division of the Profile Group, announced today that a new version of ShareMagic™ PRO was released during December. The most significant feature of the new version is the addition of a sophisticated portfolio management system.

ProfileData MD Nic Oldert says that the ShareMagic™ Portfolio Manager provides tools usually only available in corporate asset management systems. "The new portfolio manager creates a TRI (Total Return Index) for each user portfolio," says Oldert. "This is a time-series data stream that incorporates both asset price movements and income inflows such as dividends and interest. The TRI allows a user to do accurate return calculations over any period and to plot the portfolio against any benchmark."

Additional features of the new portfolio manager include sectoral analysis, asset allocation reporting, trading cost analysis, dividend performance, and a news filtering facility. A flexible reporting engine will allow additional reports to be added promptly in response to user demand.

Oldert believes that the addition of the portfolio management system entrenches the position of ShareMagic™ PRO as the most sophisticated analysis system available to private investors.
